Belron reports to the UN Global Compact

May 2011: Belron® has published its first Communication on Progress (COP) a condition of being a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Belron® signed up to the UNGC in January 2010, underlining the company’s commitment to operate in accordance with the 10 principles everywhere they operate.

The COP details the actions and commitments over the last year of the Belron® Group to human rights, labour rights, the environment and anti-corruption over the last year and shows how Belron® is aligned with the UNGC ten principles.  It also sets out how the company intends to develop its activities in further support of the UNGC framework.  Belron® has a very clear Corporate Responsibility strategy which underpins the vision of becoming the world's natural choice.  It is very proud of its performance to date in this area and the COP is one of a number of ways the company is sharing the work that has been done more widely.

Harriet Kemp, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Belron®, said: "Signing up to the UNGC was a natural next step for Belron®.  The UNGC provisions are clearly aligned with "Our Way of Working" (the Belron® Code of Ethics). Writing this communication was straightforward because we are simply describing how we currently operate and it provides another way for us to demonstrate our commitment to behaving responsibility as a business".
